Search guidance review: put engineering evidence on service pages

Engineering News
Developers working at desktop monitors displaying code in an office.

A service page can name every framework and still leave a buyer unable to judge the team. The useful question is what the supplier built, which part it owned and what can be inspected. This review applies Google's current search guidance to that buying decision; it does not announce a new ranking update.

Separate the guidance from the implementation decision

Google's people-first content guidance asks publishers to consider originality, useful substance and who created the content. A publishing calendar alone does not establish those qualities. The practical response for an engineering company is to attach evidence to its claims and give each article a reason to exist.

For example, a frontend page might show a working property website and explain its room-comparison interface. An AI page might explain an actual product integration. The evidence should match the claim: a public screenshot can demonstrate a screen, but cannot establish a conversion increase or an uptime result.

Give the reader an inspectable boundary

Describe the client problem, the delivered scope and the responsibilities held by other parties. On a game project, client-supplied artwork and engineering contributions deserve separate attribution. On a commerce project, a published app listing is useful corroboration, while installation counts and revenue claims need their own records.

A buyer should be able to move from the service directory to a relevant case study and understand what the example proves. Avoid making the visitor infer expertise from a collection of logos.

Apply the same standard to daily articles

Start each draft with a buyer question and one original contribution: a worked example, a comparison with explicit assumptions or a test someone can repeat. Check the source, record the review date and link to the service that owns the topic. If a draft only restates a vendor announcement, explain the practical consequence before publishing it. Measure enquiries and useful engagement alongside search visibility rather than treating article count as the outcome.
